Before I start submerging myself even more into this question, I just wanna lay it out on the table that I appreciate listening to any format of music. From music streaming platforms all the way to vinyl records, I’m the type that simply just vibes along the music, PERIOD. But, it doesn’t stop me from choosing a preferred method, and as you may already know by now it’s gonna be vinyl. I love listening to music in this format. It’s not about nostalgia, or any other hipster excuse! It’s more about acknowledging the surroundings of the music. You as the listener want to make sure to capture almost everything within the music, just like the artists intended us to hear. With that being said, I began to notice over the years at how this format rose to popularity, and let me just say that it never really died out. Disc Jockeys (DJ’s) were still collecting, and sampling their music. It just got pushed to the side for a while until it was reintroduced back to the public in 2010. I’ve witnessed its popularity increasing, where clothing stores like Urban Outfitters started to sell some records, and turntables. But, there was also a rise of lots of record shops popping up. And as of now I’m going to ask my question, what’s going on with vinyl? Is it gonna stay or die down again? If I’m going to answer my own question, I can reassure you that vinyl’s never going to die down. It’s one of the preferred music formats that’s always going to remain in the eye of the public. Just look at almost all musicians releasing or remastering their albums. At the same time, I love listening to music on both of my streaming platforms. You know, Apple Music, and Spotify. Checking out playlists, and getting to know music that I’ve never thought of existed is always a reward for me. But on the other hand, we still need to acknowledge vinyl records are going to be one of the preferred mediums of enjoying music. Its something that I definitely don’t see being pushed aside for a long time.
