I’m pretty sure by now that you know how much I love music. It’s a necessity in my life, just like breathing. And if you haven’t known by now, well either you’re new to The Vault of Marco, and I welcome you, or you just haven’t caught on yet. But, It’s okay. From having two music streaming services all the way to collecting vinyl records, cassette tapes, CD’s, and a couple of 8 track tapes, you can tell my appreciation for music is large, and has been part of me at a very young age. And I’ve gotta say that I’ve always been fascinated at how melodies stick with us over the years, to the point where even if we haven’t heard a song in over 50 years, just hearing the first couple of music notes will bring back a flood of memories. There’s no doubt! But, what becomes even more intriguing is how we wake up in the morning with a piece of a song stuck in our head. It’s insane! Just this morning as I woke up, I had the vocal harmonies from “New Kid in Town,” by The Eagles looping over and over in my head. The best part was how I didn’t even bother thinking or even listened to The Eagles last night. I was leaning more towards this kick ass remix that YOU need to check out, “Nuit Magique,” by Ariane Moffatt. She remixed this classic that was originally written by Catherine Lara. But, Moffat adds her own musical touch to the song by adding a great elevating beat to the music, taking a great modern spin. But, I’ve gotta say that I’ve always been fascinated since my youth at how music integrates itself within our thoughts, it’s almost as if we have a music streaming service perfectly integrated inside our brains. Where we can think of any piece of music that we’ve come across before. And, it pretty much ties the perfect knot at how music plays an important part in our lives. Because, some of these songs or melodies that we hear, we purposely choose them so that they can integrate themselves as the soundtrack to the rest of our lives. I’ve even had bizarre moments where I’ve thought of a song, and all of a sudden, I found myself listening to the same song on the radio. It’s pretty messed up, but amazing at how our thoughts revolve around music.
