Human Nature

This has got to be my favourite Michael Jackson song of all time. Hands down. Released as part of Thriller—not only MJ’s most iconic album but also the best-selling pop record of all time—Human Nature is a standout track in an album full of hits. And before we dive deeper into this gem, let’s take a moment to appreciate that Thriller was produced by none other than the legendary Quincy Jones. If you haven’t given this album a proper listen, I highly recommend picking up a copy or streaming it ASAP. You’re welcome.

Now, back to Human Nature. Unlike some of the high-energy anthems on the record, this song takes a more laid-back approach. It’s smooth, atmospheric, and effortlessly chill—the kind of track that doesn’t hype you up but instead pulls you into its dreamy, reflective world. The production is stunning, with a melody that weaves perfectly around Michael’s vocals, making it both delicate and deeply engaging at the same time.

And here’s a fun fact: this song has been covered before—by none other than Miles Davis. Yeah, you heard that right. I know, you might be thinking, This guy’s crazy, but it’s true! Of course, Miles wasn’t singing—he was interpreting the song through his legendary red trumpet. If you don’t believe me, just look it up on YouTube and experience it for yourself. Trust me, it’s worth it. Let me know what you think!
