Bold move for a title, right? Yeah, I figured. And at this point, I wouldn’t even be surprised if you’re asking yourself, out of all the records that he knows, he had to choose this one, Highway to Hell (1979,) album by AC/DC. And to that I respond…uhhh….YEAH! Before I start getting more into context, I’ve listened to AC/DC since grade school. I’ve had a friend in grade 5 who introduced us to it without our parents knowing, and just listening to the music gave us nothing but a thrill. The energy transmitted to us by those melodies was incredible. We found out later what the lyrics meant in some of the songs, but it definitely didn’t stop us from enjoying their music. And since we were in grade school, one rule we’ve always followed was to HAVE FUN. Some can say that their songs are corny, I say WHO CARES! I’ve already witnessed once at a club everybody vibing along to their hit You Shook Me All Night Long. It was definitely an experience you don’t expect. And look, if their music still resonates, and attracts the younger public to this day, then I’m all in. Now, why I think the Highway to Hell record is the most DANGEROUS album of all time is because of not only its energy, but lyrics too. There’s not a single dull moment, it’s just pure energy at its finest. All of the songs are not your typical clean pretty person vibe. Ohhhh no. It’s the complete opposite where every song contains a melange of booze, humping and partying. And yeah, you read that line correctly, in fact, I’ll even say it again; every song contains a melange of booze, humping, and partying. But look, we don’t have to stop about the meanings behind every song, because what I admire about this record was the melody, and the production of the record. The boys from down under wrote the whole record in one entire weekend, I mean, it’s what I call serious business. And then when it was released, it made a huge impact not only within the rock and roll realm, but in the entire music realm of things. In this record, you’ve got songs like Highway to Hell, Girls Got Rhythm, and If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It) that were circulating the airwaves. All to tell you that, you’re at your own risk if you’re gonna listen to the most dangerous album in the world.
