In my previous post, I’ve talked about that special connection that we tend to share between music, and our thoughts. How we just randomly think of songs, where some play a huge role within our lives that can possibly lead you towards a path of nonstop memories. Sure, it all makes sense, but you can’t even bother from shying away at how music shares a special connection within our emotions. It’s nearly impossible to hear a song, and not drive a reaction to it. Unless you’re a robot, but then again, these days with AI, you can program a robot to have feelings, I’m just saying. Those good times, bad times, heartbroken times, special times, there was always a song that perfectly correlated with that moment. And we as a society tend to seek music as sort of a refugee to support our emotions. Whatever the mood was, or even the event that I was experiencing, there’s a melody that gets played in my head. I remember the opening piano part from “You Never Give Me Your Money,” by The Beatles playing on repeat in my head when I got my heart broken for the first time. A weird song that I was grasping towards, and I don’t know why. Maybe because of the intro that got my attention, and fit perfectly within the setting? But yet again, it supported me through a bad time that I was going through. And let me just add this for the sake of it, but it’s one of my favourite Beatles songs. If you have never heard this, please do me a favour, and check it out now, you won’t be disappointed, trust me! But it’s not just tough times, I’ve had songs accompanying me through my successful moments like the time that I was graduating university, I’ve had the solo of Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven,” looping in my head. You can’t even argue at how EPIC the guitar solo is. All to say is that Jimmy Page is a wizard towards his electric guitar. Feeding music towards our emotions enables us to react in a certain way, or even influence our different moods. Think about it, we purposely choose songs for a reason, and why we tend to stick by them. Some songs might not be our cup of tea, and that’s okay. But on the other hand, there are others that we’ll definitely be playing on repeat over and over again, because they somehow synchronize perfectly with the emotions that we were experiencing right at the very moment.
